IP address lookup
Look up an IPv4 or IPv6 address to see its normalized form, address family, scope and public reverse-DNS PTR records. Choose Cloudflare or Google Public DNS for the query.
Also known asIP information lookup · IPv4 IPv6 lookup
Three small steps.
- Enter one IPv4 or IPv6 address without a port, URL or zone identifier.
- Choose a DNS provider and start the lookup.
- Review the normalized address, scope, reverse name and returned PTR records.
A few things to know.
Address details are classifications, not ownership or geolocation. Public PTR queries go through ToolMellow's server to the selected DNS provider. Private and special-use addresses are classified without sending their reverse name to a public resolver. DNS names can be absent, stale or misleading and do not establish identity. No port scanning, WHOIS, ISP identification or precise location is provided.

Does an IP address reveal a person's location?
This tool does not provide geolocation or identify a person. An address or reverse-DNS name alone cannot establish who uses a connection.
What happens with a private address?
The address family and scope are shown, but no public reverse lookup is made. Private PTR records normally belong to a local DNS server.
