Bring your PDF text into Word.
Drop one PDF here. Up to 50 MB.
Choose plain text or reconstructed document structure. Structure mode detects paragraphs, tagged headings and lists, tables, columns and figure crops for review. Review names, numbers and reading order; exact fonts and pagination are not guaranteed.
Up to 50 selected pages; at most 10 OCR pages. Automatic uses existing text when present. For a page containing both selectable text and text inside pictures, choose OCR every page. Printed English, Simplified Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French, Arabic, Bengali, German, Italian and Portuguese are supported. Handwriting and languages outside this list are unsupported. OCR can omit whole lines even with high confidence; compare every page and correct names and numbers.
Three small steps.
- Choose a PDF up to 50 MB, select pages, and choose existing text or OCR with the printed language.
- Enable structure reconstruction for headings, lists, tables, columns and figures, then review text, reading order and formatting against each source page.
- Choose source dimensions, Letter or A4, create the Word document, and download the reviewed DOCX or text. Send the reviewed text directly to Word Counter to check its length.
A few things to know.
Reconstruction needs review: tagged headings and simple lists, one- or two-column regions, tagged or simple aligned tables, basic styles and supported figure crops. List styles include bullets, numbers, letters and Roman numerals with up to nine levels. Custom or compound labels remain text; lists on separate pages preserve their visible numbers as separate lists. Supported font-family names and solid text colors are retained; fonts are not embedded. Transparent, patterned or unmatched text colors need manual review. Underline can be applied manually. Exact typography, pagination, links and interactive forms are not preserved. Up to 300 source pages, 50 selected pages, 10 OCR pages, one million text characters and 2,000 structured blocks. Tables support up to 200 rows, 12 columns and 2,000 cells; figures up to 100 and 50 MB combined. OCR offers English, Simplified Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French, Arabic, Bengali, German, Italian and Portuguese, one language per job. Structure mode needs upright scans. Complex layouts, handwriting and other OCR languages remain unsupported. Local passwords are supported.

Will my Word document look exactly like the PDF?
No. Structure reconstruction creates editable paragraphs, supported tagged headings and lists, and tables; it detects one- or two-column regions and includes supported figure crops. You can change heading levels, list styles and numbers, edit cells and styles, reorder blocks, move blocks between columns and crop missing figures. Supported font-family names and solid text colors are retained. You can choose a font, text color and underline; fonts unavailable in your word processor will be substituted. Precise positioning is not retained, and Word can reflow pages. Compare with the source preview before export.
Can I convert a scanned PDF?
Yes, for printed English, Simplified Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French, Arabic, Bengali, German, Italian and Portuguese. Choose the language before reading. Automatic uses OCR only when a page has no existing text. If a page mixes selectable text with words inside images, choose OCR for every selected page. OCR can misread characters; review names and numbers carefully.
Does OCR upload my PDF or password?
No. Page rendering, recognition, and DOCX creation run on this device. The selected language model and engine load from this site when OCR is needed. Your PDF, edits, and password are not uploaded or saved in browser storage.
Does each PDF page become one Word page?
The page-break option starts each source page on a new Word page. Text can still reflow over additional pages depending on length, fonts available in Word, and output page size.
